The eleventh and as of now final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise will reportedly begin filming in 2025 after several delays and is scheduled to release in 2026, twenty-five years after the first film came out.
Fast X has already teased the return of Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs after Johnson and series star Vin Diesel had a falling out on the sets of Fate of the Furious. The stars have reportedly put the past behind them and Johnson may just return for a full-fledged part in the finale. But there are sure to be some surprises in the cast list once the film gets closer to its release date.While Jason Momoa had plenty of fun as the antagonist Dante Reyes in Fast X, it was rumored that a new villain will be appearing in Fast X Part 2 (via Comic Book). Vin Diesel reportedly mentioned that he wanted Robert Downey Jr. to play the antagonist in the finale and teased the character as the ‘antithesis to Dom’ (via Variety).Dwayne Johnson joined the Fast & Furious franchise as Luke Hobbs in Fast Five. The Moana star became a worthy nemesis for Vin Diesel’s Dominic and pursued (and helped) the gang in multiple films. He even got his own spinoff film, Hobbs & Shaw which saw him fight Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw. The film was directed by David Leitch.
